Hawai'i - Fall 2007

My parents are addicted to time shares. Seriously, there ought to be a self-help group. But every once in a while, their addiction comes in handy (and not just for the sake of a joke). In the fall of 2007, Bill and I joined them at their time share in Hawai'i for a week. It was me, and my husband, and a gorgeous blue ocean, warm winds, mai tais aplenty....and my parents.

Yeah, we really know how to party.

Anyway, despite my protestations that I am not a beach person (an hour, fine; an entire day, shoot me), we ended up not heading off the reservation that often. First, because the reservation is a 30-minute drive from Honolulu. Second, because Bill is a beach person, and all he wanted was to spend one full day soaking in the sun.

Thus, despite the fact that I took just over a thousand photos (for those keeping track), there aren't many subjects. We had intended to climb a volcano; I'd talked about swimming with dolphins, or at least snorkeling; there was even a surfing competition on the other side of the island with 30-foot waves. But given the choice between that 30-minute drive, and sitting on a beach....well, Such is life.
